In the effort to improve upon the quality of learning programs, we examine the research behind the design, organization, and materials choices for an optimal learning environment. Viewing the environment as the “third teacher,” the schools of Reggio Emilia pay significant attention to every detail in the environment while putting to use current research on environmental design.
