We are going to be working a little bit on the balance steps here today, before we get going I just want to explain, this here is where you are going to hold on for support, okay, it’s very important to know that is what the balance beam bar is for. We are going to start off with a very basic simple movement that’s going to help you improve your balance, improve your coordination, increase leg strength and core stability, so that’s a very functional exercise. So, Blanche we are going to get you stepping up and transferring the body weight onto the left foot from the right, left foot to right, left foot to the right and down we come, you notice the hand was on the railing the whole time, going back now, we are actually are not going to use the railings, so now we are going to challenge the balance a little more, so let’s step back up again and exactly there we go, no hands on there, keeping you balance, there is no rush here, there is no rush to finish the exercise, so that’s part one of the movement. The second part we are going to do a traditional walking step, so it’s just like climbing a flight of stairs, moving up and down, there we go, transferring the weight from left to right now, perfect, and again now, nice controlled movements, once again we can go on without holding on, so now we are challenging the balance a little bit more, there you go, making sure that you are looking with the eyes and not moving the head to much, so that’s the second progression. The third progression we are going to change the position of the body, so we now going to face to the side, holding on to the bar, we are now stepping off to the side, again working on the balance, laterally stability through the hips and we are going to come back over now, this time no hands on the bar, so now we are really challenging the balance in this movement, as I said before, don’t rush these exercises. There are a number of variations that you can incorporate on this piece of equipment, so it, improve your balance, improve your strength, see the benefits of the exercise.
