Looncam #2 is the second live loon nest camera of the 2018 nesting season, streamed by the Loon Preservation Committee, a non-profit organization based in Moultonborough, NH.
The first egg appeared on Sunday, June 24th and the second egg a few days later. We expect the first hatch around July 21st.
The loons can only be identified by bands on their legs. The female can be identified by the white stripe over blue on left leg and silver over yellow stripe on the right leg. The male on territory has a red over white on his left leg and silver over red dot on his right.

We are streaming in 1080p. For the highest resolution on a PC and if you have a fast internet connection, select the gear icon at the lower right corner of your YouTube screen and manually select 1080p. You will be amazed at the difference.
The camera is operating on solar power. Two 100 watt panels and a 100 amp/hour battery ensures 24×7 operations. The data is streamed with WiFi to the mainland, over 1/4 mile of water, where the Internet connection to YouTube is located.
There is a chat room open for this stream. Please join in the conversation, ask questions and observations. Because there are thousands of viewers per day, including many children, we request that comments be on the topic of loons, civil and appropriate. No egging on. Leave that for the loons. Those that drift from these requests may receive a timeout or be banned. The chat room may close at times if the moderator cannot maintain control of the topic.
