From July 7 to August 2, NOAA and partners will conduct an expedition on NOAA Ship Okeanos Explorer to continue collecting critical baseline information about unknown and poorly known deepwater areas in the Johnston Atoll Unit of the Pacific Remote Islands Marine National Monument.
From July 7-10, we will conduct “shakedown” operations offshore Oahu, to test equipment. We’ll then transit to Johnston Atoll and, from July 13 or 14 through July 29, will conduct daily remotely operated vehicle dives and overnight mapping in the Johnston Atoll Unit of the Monument.
