I’m Teresa Rohde and I’m the climbing wall manager Colorado School of Mines Student Rec Center

We opened in May it’s 36 feet tall at the highest part

It’s got the greatest arch in the world

It’s really good for bouldering

and we also have nine foot boulder outside that people can climb on

Eldo build the wall

they did a great job

right now this is our first semester where we actually have allot of students on campus

and we’re running movement and technique classes and repelling classes

and then I teach the womens rock climbing class and the director of the outdoor rec center Rob Thomson teaches an intro to rock climbing class

and we primarily use this wall as our teaching facility

the students think it’s fa-nominal, especially at a small college like this

we only have about three-thousand undergrad

and another eight-hundred grad students so

at a school this size to have this kind of facility is amazing

they’re meeting kids that like to do the same activities that they would normally do and there’s no other place for them to meet

and now they all come to the wall and they find friends that will go outside climbing with them, go on climbing trips with them, go bouldering

they love it, they exchange phone numbers and emails

which they didn’t have before

They were fa-nominal to work with

made changes half way through that we asked for that weren’t on the original plans, added I think a third crack for us

just did a fa-nominal job

and then the few little minor design things that we had to have fixed, they came right back out and took care of it for us

it’s close to campus, its free, its a great fitness, great workout facility and rock climbing is fun
